My breath -- and confidence -- was knocked out of me,
as I flew and landed flat on my stomach.
Lying there, embodying vulnerability,
I viscerally reconnected with the predicament of childhood.

Children live in a land just outside proficiency --
the place where development resides.
How quickly we flee this territory as adults --
sacrificing challenge for competency, engagement for ease.
What would my life be,
should I return to living in the land just outside proficiency,
Engaging with others as fellow pilgrims
on a collective quest towards human potential?
